Library Web Site 2019 Launched

The new look for the Library Web Site was launched 15 August 2019.

Because of a delay in IT, we launched on the old web server.  It appears to be working O.K. and we will continue to host it there until the site is moved to the new server.  Some things to note:
  • It is important to move to the new server with newer software and more space since the older server is perilously close to crashing more frequently.
  • The new server has been installed and also has a security certificate and the OK of Gary Weseman.  We don't understand the delay.
  • Clicking on any chat link sends the user to a page with the chat box embedded there.
    • Rationale:  works better for cell phone users.
  • A new "tour of the new site" is finished and is linked in the footer.

General comments
When asked if they like sites like the ACC Home with videos and long page, all said a waste of time and they really dislike scrolling. Things should be simple and all on the screen, i.e., above the fold.
